This Privacy Policy describes how EriggaLive (operated by Erigga Live Entertainment) ("EriggaLive", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use the EriggaLive mobile application, our website at https://www.eriggalive.com, and any related services (collectively, the "Services"). By using the Services you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.
1. Summary of Key Points
- We collect information you give us (account, profile, posts) and information collected automatically (device data, usage events, crash reports).
- We use this information to provide and secure the Services, personalise your experience, process payments, and communicate with you.
- We do not sell your personal information.
- You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Account → Delete Account, or by emailing privacy@eriggalive.com.
- Children under 13 are not permitted to use the Services. Mature content is gated to users 17 or older.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information: email, username, display name, password (stored in salted hashed form), profile photo, bio, optional birth date, optional phone number.
- Content you create: community posts ("yarns"), comments, replies, reactions ("feels"), expressions, gifts, stories, voice notes, photos, videos, and metadata such as timestamps and device language.
- Transaction information: EriggaCoin balance, in-app purchase records, ticket purchases, gift transactions, and the limited card metadata returned by our payment processors. We never see or store full card numbers.
- Communications: messages you send through in-app chat, support emails, push-notification preferences, and shoutouts submitted to EriggaLive Radio.
- Device and technical data: device model, operating system version, app version, language, time-zone, IP address, advertising identifier (only with consent on iOS), session length, and anonymised crash logs.
- Location data: only when you explicitly opt in to share your location in messages or stories. We do not track background location.
- Contacts: only the names and numbers you grant us access to via the system contacts permission, used solely to help you find friends already on EriggaLive. We do not upload your full address book.
- Camera, microphone, photo library: accessed only when you choose to capture or attach media, scan an event QR code, or record a voice note.
3. How We Use Your Information
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Services and develop new features.
- Authenticate users, enforce community rules, and prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorised access.
- Process EriggaCoin purchases, gifts, ticket payments, and subscription renewals via Apple In-App Purchase, Google Play Billing, Stripe, or other authorised processors.
- Personalise content, including the community feed, news, EriggaTV recommendations, and trending posts.
- Send transactional notifications (purchase receipts, ticket reminders, security alerts) and, with your consent, promotional messages from EriggaLive.
- Respond to your support requests and legal inquiries.
- Comply with our legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.
4. Legal Bases (GDPR / EEA / UK Users)
- Performance of a contract: providing the Services you signed up for.
- Legitimate interests: security, fraud prevention, product improvement, analytics in aggregate form.
- Consent: optional features such as push notifications, location sharing, contact discovery, and marketing communications. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legal obligation: tax, accounting, response to lawful requests.
5. How We Share Information
We share information only as described below. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
- With other users: profile fields you make public, posts/comments you publish, and gift transactions visible in community feeds.
- With service providers acting on our behalf under contractual confidentiality obligations: Supabase (backend hosting and authentication), Vercel (web hosting), Cloudflare (CDN), Stripe (payments), Apple and Google (in-app purchase processing), Sendgrid/Resend (transactional email), Expo (push notifications and crash reports).
- With law enforcement or regulators when required by valid legal process or to protect the safety, rights, or property of EriggaLive, our users, or the public.
- In connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, in which case the acquirer will be bound by this Privacy Policy or a successor with equivalent protections.
6. International Transfers
EriggaLive is operated from Nigeria. Our cloud providers may process data in the United States, European Union, and other regions. Where required, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards approved by the relevant data-protection authority.
7. Data Retention
We keep your account and content for as long as your account remains active. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal, tax, fraud-prevention, or dispute-resolution purposes (typically up to 7 years for financial records). Backups are purged on a rolling 90-day cycle.
8. Your Rights and Choices
- Access, correct, or download your data: email privacy@eriggalive.com and we will respond within 30 days.
- Delete your account: in-app via Profile → Account → Delete Account, or by emailing privacy@eriggalive.com.
- Object to or restrict processing, or withdraw consent for optional processing.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority (NDPC for Nigeria; ICO for the UK; EU DPAs for the EEA).
- Manage permissions: revoke camera, microphone, contacts, location, or notification permissions at any time from your device settings.
- Opt out of promotional emails using the unsubscribe link or by emailing privacy@eriggalive.com.
9. Children's Privacy
The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If we learn we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly. Mature content (explicit lyrics, EriggaTV premieres, certain community channels) is restricted to users 17 or older. Parents who believe their child has provided personal information to us may contact privacy@eriggalive.com.
10. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards including TLS 1.2+ for data in transit, encryption at rest for sensitive fields, role-based access controls, application-level rate limiting, regular security reviews, and audit logs. No system is perfectly secure; you are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for reporting suspected unauthorised use to support@eriggalive.com.
11. Apple In-App Purchases and Google Play Billing
Purchases of EriggaCoin, premium subscriptions, and digital gifts on iOS are processed by Apple under the Apple Media Services Terms. On Android, purchases are processed by Google Play under the Google Play Terms of Service. Refunds for these purchases are governed by Apple's or Google's policies, not EriggaLive's, and must be requested through your respective store.
12. Third-Party Services and Links
The Services may link to or embed third-party websites, services, or media (for example, BBC Radio audio streams, YouTube videos, ticketing partners). Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. We encourage you to review them.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above will reflect the latest revision. For material changes we will notify you in-app or by email at least 7 days before the change takes effect.
